Bellhop Porter
Bellhop Porter
From Matt:
This is my simple base porter recipe. It's great on its own, but I call it Bellhop because when I make it I usually have it "carry" along some sort of adjunct. I've made this with sour cherries, blackberries, blueberries, and plums in the past. If you want to take it up a level use Belgian Ale W as your yeast - you'll get a tiny bit more ABV but you'll get more fruity esters and phenols. Just add a blowoff tube because Belgian Ale W can be an aggressive fermentor!
